Many of the furniture pieces I have from years ago are knotty pine.
They have yellowed through the years and I am just not happy with the look anymore.
This dresser was part of a set in my daughter’s room. Instead of sending it off to Goodwill I decided to paint it.
It was as easy as one, two, three…
first make sure to shellac the knots so that they do not bleed through
(got this tip from The Melon Patch where I purchase my Annie Sloan Chalk Paint).
Then I gave the piece two coats of “old white” Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
I distressed the dresser by sanding it lightly then applied a coat of clear wax to the top.
After buffing it to a shine it was DONE!
Now I have a “new” dresser for my daughter’s room at our country home.
The room still needs painting and I need to bring in other furniture but the Dresser is done and we love it.
Told you it was easy…
