An invite to my sanctuary
Welcome. My backyard is my sanctuary. It is where I go when I want to relax, think, read a book, work, or simply enjoy the company of friends and family with food, wine, and sheer laughter. Unfortunately, this summer the rain has demised my sanctuary to fleeting moments…but who can argue with Mother Nature?
I have to be honest. The backyard is a labour of love for my husband Mark. It was his DIY project. He made the deck and dining patio himself. The outdoor furniture and decor was my contribution.
Enjoying some quiet time.
Mark placed each stone himself and with that he invented his own colourful language when things didn’t go his way. I was very happy with the result.
Each year in mid-May, Mark sets out to the nursery to buy flowers and ferns for the yard. He’s the one with the green thumb, not me.
Our blooming flowers this summer.
The mask of an old, wise man is made from bark tree that Mark brought back as a gift from his travels to British Columbia, Clayoquot Sound. It has been my protector for 25 years now. He gave it to me after one year of dating.
I hope you enjoyed your visit.
