DIY Fall Burlap Candles

Do you put away your Summer candles in order to bring out your Fall ones?

Well don’t do it!! Just transform them with a little burlap!

That’s it…no big secret, nothing difficult, just some burlap

and jute or twine or any other string you may have around.

I received this shell candle as a bonus when I purchased my chair covers at Pier One this Summer…

along with two other blue candles.

My favourite Fall accessory…BURLAP!!

I have small rolls and large rolls. This size was perfect for the candle.

I simply wrapped the candles in burlap, held the burlap in place with some tacks (you can use hot glue as well).

Added a faux leaf and tied it together with jute.

Three ‘new’ Fall candles for pennies.

My daughters love to buy me scented candles from

I also enjoy dressing up those glass jars…

and when the candle is gone and you are left with empty jars…that is a project for another post.

  • Why didn’t I think of this. Love it. Thanks so much for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

  • Thanks Maria, I would love to link up this post to your party. Be right over.

    All the best,

  • Thanks Liz. Blue is my favourite colour so this year I decided to keep it in my Fall decor.

  • Excellent idea! I bought some rolls of burlap on sale at Michaels recently. Burlap is a nice accent for so many things. These are great and customized! Love the blue mixed with the fall coloring.

  • I love how the thicker burlap looks tied around the candles. A great touch for fall. And that red leaf & twine finishes it off perfectly!! Thanks for the tip!
