‘Old Ochre’ Hall Table

Added a small hall table to my entrance with the help of a local craftsman and some Annie Sloan Chalk paint!

I always wanted a large table in my foyer but unfortunately I don’t have the wall space for it.
The foyer is a very open area in my home and there is only a small wall between the entrance and the powder-room.  I have tried various tables but they were never the right size…until now!

Before

I had this little table made, just the right length and width for the space (please ignore the mirror, it belonged in the space with the previous table).

Cover pine knots with shellac before painting

After covering the pine knots with shellac, I gave this little guy two coats of Annie Sloan ‘old ochre’ chalk paint.

After, 2 coats of paint

Once dried I applied clear wax followed by some dark wax. I am still nervous using dark wax so I applied it using a soft cloth, mixing some clear and dark together to get a light finish.

I added a small glass knob to the drawer, perfect place to store my keys. The small bottom shelf is perfect to hold a lantern or small basket. The top has plenty of room to display my seasonal decor.

…and the mirror I picked up some time ago at The Melon Patch

has found a new home. It is painted in ASCP Florence, dark wax and distressed.

Thanks for coming by,
